The American Medical Resource Institute (AMRI) is happy to announce the winner of our first ever AMRI scholarship. Yu Ying Mei is the recipient of our $2,000 award to be used toward her tuition as she pursues her career in the field of medicine.
Yu Ying Mei, who is currently enrolled as a pharmacy student at St. John’s University, faced a tough competition. Applicants were asked to write a 2,000-word essay answering two questions about their careers in medicine. We received a large number of submissions and our staff read and discussed them all. Finally, we chose what we believed to be the five best entries and opened them up to a public vote on Facebook.
In the end, Ying Mei’s essay received 1,799 votes, enough to surpass the other four finalists. We are proud to name her as the recipient of our prize.
She will receive her check and a certificate in the next few days. We at AMRI wish Ying Mei and the rest our finalists the best of luck as they continue to pursue their dreams in the field of medicine.
