For years, light to moderate drinking has been considered safe, and perhaps even beneficial, for your heart. Indeed, the antioxidants and resveratrol in red wines has been touted as heart-healthy when consumed in moderation as it can reduce inflammation and blood clotting.
However, according to Catharine Paddock, PhD recent findings may prove the opposite to be true. She reports in an article in Medical News Today, that a recent multinational study headed by researchers at the Perelman School of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania suggests that as little as one glass of wine a day can have a damaging effect on the heart.
