AMRI Will Soon Announce Top 5 Finalists for 2017 Scholarship
For the second year in a row, the American Medical Resource Institute
® will engage the members of the AMRI community on Facebook to help it pick the 2017 winner of a $1,000 scholarship.
To be considered for the award, applicants must be enrolled full-time in a school or medical training program and working toward a career in a field that requires advanced life support skills. They also must submit a 2,000-word essay that answers the question “What inspired you to embark on a career within your chosen healthcare field?”.
AMRI will narrow the pool of applicants down to the top 5 finalists this week, and then the AMRI community on Facebook will vote for their favorite essay. The scholarship will be awarded to the essay that receives the most votes.
In 2016, the competition for the top two essays had voters casting votes all the way up to the midnight deadline. Yu Ying Ming ultimately emerged victorious with 1,799 votes coming in just ahead of fellow finalist Lauren Amelia Nealy, who received 1,691 votes.
AMRI will post essays from the top 5 finalists on January 16. Voting will begin that day and last until Jan. 29 at 11:59 PM CST. The official winner will be announced on Feb. 3.
“We have some really great candidates this year,” says Brooke Kauffman, an AMRI administrator. “We’re looking forward to another exciting round of voting.”
