How are my clinical skills documented in the online recertification program?
At the end of the recertification examination, you will be provided with a page where your clinical skills training and present skills relating to your role in resuscitation will be documented and made part of your provider recertification record. This process replaces activities with plastic manikins, which have never been demonstrated to accurately predict practice performance.
How are my clinical skills documented in the full provider education program?
After the successful completion of the online education program and online provider examination, a fully completed clinical skill verification form must be received, verifying required clinical skills by your hospital or local educator/clinical supervisor, before the provider card will be issued (forms will be sent to you with your ACLS or PALS Manual).
If my ACLS or PALS has lapsed (expired), can I still take the online examination?
Yes. However, remember that the more time has passed since your last course, the less comfortable you may be with course content and updated information. Make sure to prepare adequately. Also, the Guidelines for CPR and ECC changed in 2005, so many are opting to take the full provider education program to comprehensively update themselves with the new guidelines.
Where can I get study materials?
Because online recertification does not require you to buy training materials, you may borrow ACLS or PALS materials from friends or from a medical library. We are trying to limit expense and difficulty for you. As a service, materials will be available for you to order when you register to take an online ACLS or PALS examination. (You are not required to purchase these materials.)
For the full ACLS or PALS provider education/certification course, you will be sent the most recent provider manual to either study or use as a reference. The book and written instructions regarding your clinical skill documentation will be mailed to the address you provide the following business day after we receive your registration.
Is there any way to get my ACLS/PALS provider card immediately?
When you register and pay for your online recertification examination, you will have the option to select "Instant Provider Card."
If you select this option, you will be able to download a PDF of your provider card upon completion of your recertification exam or provider course. A copy of the PDF will also be emailed to you.
You can use the PDF as a temporary provider card until you receive your card in the mail.
There is a $15 charge for the instant provider card service.
Alternatively, during the registration process, you may select express shipping for your provider card and CE document.
If you fail to order expedited services when you register, you may do so by calling 847-847-3280 (Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CT). Expedited services are handled during normal business hours. Documents are produced in 24-hour batches each business day morning. Cards are mailed the same day via first class mail unless otherwise instructed.
EXPRESS HANDLING: AMRI has found that "Express Mail" via the U.S. Postal Service is the most reliable source for overnight delivery. However, some rural areas cannot be reached by any service in one day. Thus, on occasion, documents sent overnight to some rural locations may take an additional day. There is a $35.00 charge for express service.
If I fail the examination, what will happen?
At your request, you will be assigned an online education specialist who will review your areas of difficulty, suggest methods of remediation and, when you are ready, reset your examination for you to take again at no additional charge.
ATTN: CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE ANESTHETISTS
In order to qualify for the 7.0 hours of AANA CE credit, CRNAs must complete the exam successfully (84% or better) on the first attempt. There are no retesting attempts permitted.
When are the AMRI office hours?
AMRI services are conducted Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CT. All weekend activities are processed Monday morning. All holiday activities will be processed on the first business day after the holiday.
